Why is international shipping so expensive?Updated 5 months ago
There are several factors contributing to the expense of international shipping. All international shipments are shipped Delivery Duty Paid (DDP) - meaning all duties and taxes are assessed up front at checkout, and there will be no surprise customs charges that prevent final delivery once the order arrives in your destination country. Due to the size, weight, and value of the product itself, duties and taxes may be significant depending on the destination country. Additionally, because the product is a certified medical food, additional duties or taxes may be levied depending on the destination country.
We utilize a trusted shipping partner to provide us access to ship to over 65+ countries worldwide (with more countries being added weekly). With this service, we have much better visibility into the status of the package, and better options to help mitigate any potential hold ups with customs or final delivery. Our international shipping service also delivers your order directly to your doorstep (with no need to wait in long lines at the local post to collect your order).*
Rest assured, we're always looking for more cost effective ways to make the product available to customers worldwide and hope to offer more extensive distribution options in the near future.
Please note: in Scandinavian countries the standard delivery method is PUDO (pick up/drop off) where the final leg of delivery is made to a designated pickup point. Pick up instructions are communicated directly from the final delivery carrier. Please make sure a phone number and email address are included with your order to ensure pickup instructions are communicated efficiently.
